New on the radar: Decay demo

What Decay is

Fresh contact: Decay is a slot from Hacksaw Gaming, styled around zombies, horror and post apocalyptic, first released in August 2026. At the time of our 15 October 2026 scan it had been out for about 8 weeks, which still counts as new in casino-lobby terms. Use the demo on this page to try this Hacksaw Gaming release with play money first; nothing you do in it costs or pays real money. Decay is one of 73 August 2026 releases in our free-demo selection.

Mechanics on the scope

Decay is built on 6 reels by 5 rows (6x5) using fixed paylines. Its toolkit covers a free spins feature where the bonus action happens at no extra stake, a bonus buy option that lets you pay a fixed price to jump straight into the feature (where it is permitted), scatters that act as the key to the bonus round and respin mechanics that give extra chances without a new stake. Further down the list you will also find symbol transformation, symbol collection and retrigger. The mix is familiar, so the real test is how often the features fire, which a few dozen demo spins will show you.

Reading the numbers

The published return to player is 96.27%, in line with the modern industry norm of roughly 96%; in plain terms the built-in edge is around 3.73% over the very long run, not per session. The very high volatility rating suggests long losing streaks and rare but very large wins. At the top end, wins are capped at 10,000x your bet, a big but not extreme cap by current standards.

How to scan the demo

• Pick one stake in Decay and log how many rounds it takes for the balance to halve or double — repeat it twice to smooth out luck.
• Log the trigger rate of the Hacksaw Gaming bonus round — rounds played versus features landed — over at least two sessions.
• Test the bonus buy with play money: note the price, then the payout of five or six purchased rounds of Decay.
• Before playing Decay for real anywhere, open the info screen and confirm the RTP shown matches 96.27%.

Player fit

Our read: this one is best for experienced high-variance players who treat each session as entertainment spend. If zombies, horror and post apocalyptic artwork appeals to you, the presentation is part of the draw. Bonus-buy fans can test the Decay feature price in the demo first. Not sure? Set a play-money budget in the Decay demo and see how long it lasts — that is a fair preview of real-money variance.

New on the radar: where fresh releases land

In our experience tracking launches, games from the past few months are often easier to find at new casinos than at long-running ones that rotate their lobbies slowly. If you want to play Decay for real, Taboobet is our top new casino of 2026; search its lobby for the title first, because which Hacksaw Gaming games are available depends on your country. If a new casino is your plan for Decay, test a small withdrawal early so you know how the cashier behaves.

Verdict

Decay is a Hacksaw Gaming release from August 2026 with a 10,000x ceiling, a busy feature set and an editorial rating of 7/10 in our source data. Try the Decay demo above first, and only move to real money if you still enjoy it after the novelty wears off.
